CBD and CBD Oil
CBD Oil is a natural dietary supplement consisting of Cannabis Sativa L extract containing naturally occurring phytoannabinoids (including CBD) and vegetable oil (often hemp seed oil or coconut). Unlike the ordinary cooking hemp oil, the CBD hemp oil is a dietary supplement containing, along with unsaturated OMEGA-3 and OMEGA-6 fatty acids, a natural extract with the full-spectrum of naturally occurring phytocannabinoids (including CBD), terpenoids and flavonoids, which gives it its unique properties.
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of 104 chemical compounds, known as cannabinoids, that can be found in the cannabis plant. It’s a naturally occurring substance, which can be extracted and mixed with a carrier oil to create CBD oil. CBD is one of the most useful and most exciting cannabinoids. Unlike Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) – the main psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis which causes the sensation of getting “high” – CBD oil is not a psychoactive. Its beneficial properties are at last being recognized the world over. Thanks to social media, its efficacy as a natural medicine that alleviates a host of ailments is spreading fast.
Regardless of whether you have any serious ailments or not, CBD oil is beneficial to your mental and physical health regulating a variety of functions including sleep, appetite, pain and your immune system response.
CBD has shown antidepressant-like effects in several studies and been used to safely treat insomnia, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder. These qualities are linked to its ability to act on the brain’s receptors for serotonin, a neurotransmitter that regulates mood and social behavior. PubMed, The US National Library of Medicine database, National Institute of Health, currently lists over 1,450 medical papers featuring cannabidiol; the efficacy of CBD oil is both anecdotally and scientifically well documented. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC64772/
Put simply – the higher the concentration and purity. CBD oil comes in a range of different dosages such 5% (500 mg), 10% (1000 mg), 15% (1500 mg) or 30% (3000 mg) concentration of cannabidiol (CBD). Unless one wants to aid some serious disease, it is recommended to start with 5% (500 mg) and build the concentration level in the body for the first month before taking a higher CBD concentration. Whilst higher doses of CBD are likely to have a more pronounced effect, it’s wise to start with a low to moderate dosage for your body to adjust and build a concentration, then gradually work your way up to a higher dosage. By observing the effects over the course of several days, you can make the necessary adjustments. If you don’t see the desired effect after 2 weeks, increase your dosage. Once the desired effect sets in, you will be able to establish what concentration of CBD oil is best for you or your pets.

While the vast majority of cannabinoids are controlled substances under the Misuse of Drugs Act, CBD oil is legal across the EU for medicinal purposes (with little exceptions, like e.g. stricter regulations in Spain), provided it has been derived from an industrial hemp strain that is EU-approved. These strains contain very little to no THC (the psychoactive cannabinoid). There are strict restrictions in place with regard to CBD oil’s THC content: for CBD oil to be legal in the EU, it must contain no more than 0.2 per cent THC. Please check that it is legally sold in your country before ordering.
All vertebrates have a self-healing mechanism called the Endocannabinoid System – ECS, discovered in the 1988. This system is responsible for maintaining the body’s “homeostasis”, which balances of all our bodily functions in the most efficient way and initiates the healing processes (just as it does when you break a bone or cut yourself). It consists of endocannabinoids, cannabinoid receptors and enzymes.
Endocannabinoids – The fatty substances or oils (in microscopic quantities) bind with body’s own cannabinoid receptors. They are manufactured, controlled and disposed of by the enzymes. Our body manufactures endocannabinoids in order to pass messages concerning functions such as pain, inflammation, memory, appetite and mood.
Cannabinoid receptors – are the membranes in our body’s cells that enable signals to be passed around. There are CB1 and CB2 receptors in the central nervous system and CB2 receptors in the immune and gastrointestinal system.
CBD – The CBD part of “CBD Oil” is a phytocannabinoid, meaning that is it is a substance derived from a plant (phyto) that interacts with the cannabinoid receptors present in the ECS. Phytocannabinoids (CBD being the main one) bind to these receptors generating a response in the ECS. The body then starts a healing reaction.
Although CBD is generally considered safe, it can cause adverse reactions like diarrhoea, fatigue and headache in some people due to detoxifying effect. It may also interfere with certain medications. Generally, it is advised to cut your medication by half while taking CBD oil and keep at last 2 hours apart in between medicine and CBD. Please always seek advise from a doctor that has had experience with CBD before reducing your medicine dosage.

Information given directly by the producer
CannabiGold brand has been present on the European markets since April 2016. Right now the product is distributed in 14 EU countries and Switzerland. We have been shipping the product with land and air frights without any issues. We travelled to trade fairs and meetings with product in our bags and pockets within the EU many times and never had even the slightest problem. Moreover we typically take CannabiGold bottle onboard and show it when controlled on the airport. We always take CannabiGold in original packaging in the hand luggage and never had any problems with the security
From own experience and from what we know of legal status of CBD in EU it is safe to travel with CBD products if we travel within the EU. This applies of course only to safe and tested CBD food supplements. Any CBD product without a label, not tested or coming from a doubtful source is not only a risk to carry on-board but also to consume in general and we would encourage you to change it for CannabiGold. The awareness of CBD is growing and it is widely accepted in Europe and recognized as safe and non-psychoactive by the regulators, so in case anyone asks it should be fairly easy to explain the product is a food supplement and is tested and controlled in your home country.
Concerning travelling outside of EU, we have experiences taking it across the Atlantic in our luggage but we would recommend to be very cautious about it and make sure we know well the regulation of the country we are travelling to and all countries we are to pass on our way. In extreme circumstances e.g., in Philippines or Singapore one can be prosecuted for possession of cannabis derivatives and even sentenced to death, so you can never be cautious enough. Even if we know alike products are sold in the country of our destination there is a risk that the product we carry with us could be confiscated by the security, so we would recommend to use local source in such cases.

Hemp has a long history of human use. It was the first plant to be domestically cultivated in Mesopotamia (now Turkey) as early as 8000 B.C. By 2700 B.C. the Middle East, Africa, and most of Asia were using it for fabric, rope, medicine and food. In America it dates back to early colonists who not only grew hemp as an herbal medicine but also used it for textiles and rope production. Sadly, all the hemp production was halted by the mid-1930s when cannabis was regulated as a drug in every state, including 35 states that adopted the Uniform State Narcotic Drug Act. The first national regulation was the Marijuana Act of 1937. Cannabis was officially outlawed for any use (medical included) with the passage of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) of 1970. However, since in 1940, a team from Illinois University isolated CBD for the first time (bringing to life the fact that there were active compounds in the cannabis plant that did not contain the psychoactive qualities of THC associated with the plant), in the 1980s and ’90s, CBD started to gain more traction for pain-relieving qualities. In 1998, a British pharmaceutical group, GW Pharmaceuticals, began official medical trials to better understand the capabilities of CBD. This early research led to international studies conducted by numerous medical societies around the world. Most recently, in December of 2018, the United States passed the new Farm Bill, making CBD derived from industrial hemp legal on a federal level. Also, many European countries passed the laws allowing CBD products with less than 0,2% used legally as a food supplement.

CBD Health Benefits
Cannabidiol (CBD), a non-psychoactive extract, is now commonly used to treat a host of ailments from anxiety and insomnia to multiple sclerosis, epilepsy and even cancer. In the UK, it is in the final-stage trials as a treatment for some types of epilepsy, giving hope to many.
CBD has also been researched for its potential effectiveness in treating several other neurological diseases. For example, several studies have shown that treatment with CBD improved quality of life and sleep quality for people with Parkinson’s disease.
Additionally, animal and test-tube studies have shown that CBD may decrease inflammation and help prevent the neurodegeneration associated with Alzheimer’s disease.
Recent research has also linked CBD with several benefits for the heart and circulatory system, including the ability to lower high blood pressure. There are two studies quoted by PubMed – one of them found that multiple sclerosis sufferers experience increased mobility, reduced muscle spasms and reduced pain when treated with a combination of CBD and THC for one month; while another study demonstrated CBD and THC improved pain management for those with rheumatoid arthritis. What’s more, CBD has been found to alleviate symptoms associated with cancer treatment, including chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting.
Recent studies have shown that CBD oil helps reduce chronic pain by impacting endocannabinoid receptor activity, reducing inflammation and interacting with neurotransmitters. Please refer to our Research section.
Based on recent scientific studies CBD oil appears to be an efficient and safe way to treat acne, thanks in part to its remarkable anti-inflammatory qualities and its ability to reduce sebum production and agents like inflammatory cytokines.
Going through Menopause can not only be very uncomfortable and worrying because of the usual symptoms like mood swings, anxiety, depression, insomnia, hot flashes and night sweats but it can also create an increased risk of developing many ailments like osteoporosis, chronic pain, diabetes and cardiovascular problems due to unwanted weight gain. CBD can help significantly to alleviate these symptoms due to the following facts:
- Cannabidiol has been a patented anti-inflammatory substance in the United States. Several studies have shown that CBD has an ability to reduce inflammation, thereby relieving pain.
- CBD also has an impact on the serotonin system, therefore, producing anti-depressant effects.
- Although no specific studies have been done on CBD for night sweats, its connection with the serotonin system suggests that it could be able to help.
- CBD can help to lower insulin levels and improve metabolism, meaning that it lessens your risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
- Cannabinoids like CBD may help to regulate appetite and therefore, help you to keep your MBI lower. In fact a study of Lifetime cannabis exposure proves the connection lower body mass index (BMI) shows that greater cannabis exposure was associated with lower BMI as well as lower cholesterol levels and other risk factors. It is no surprising then that many women nowadays are turning to CBD oil to assist with menopause symptoms. When the other options, like hormone replacement therapy, have so many side effects and risks, it’s a no-brainer to choose CBD.

Vetri Hemp CBD for Pets
CBD is regularly used by pet-owners because of its anti-inflammatory properties, cardiac benefits, anti-nausea effects and appetite stimulation. It visibly reduces an animal’s anxiety and although there’s little definitive scientific data on using CBD to treat animals, there’s lots of anecdotal evidence from pet owners suggesting it alleviates pain, especially neuropathic pain, as well as helping to control seizures, just like in people. For more information please refer to this article in the blog section of the website:
6 Reasons why you should give CBD oil to your pet regularly.
